Eleanor Symer

Art has always been an important part of my life from the schools I attended and in the work that I did in the public schools. There have been ways to satisfy my artistic yearnings, but it was not until I retired and began to attend the Adult Education classes offered by Santa Barbara City College that I began to devote myself to serious study with fine teachers. There I have had classes in drawing, colored pencil, calligraphy, printing and monotype, acrylics, art history, oil painting and collage. I have found myself most drawn to oil painting and collage.

I am a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association, the Goleta Valley Art association, the Artists of Step I, and the West Coast Society of Miniature Art.

My works have found their way to New York, Japan, Seattle, San Jose, orange County and Palm Springs as here at home in Goleta, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria.
