Light Up The Night 2007: "Artizans' Ball"

In 2007, our theme was THE ARTIZANS' BALL, and our event was held at “Rockwood,” on Saturday night, December 8 from 6 to 10 pm. This was our 16th version of Light Up The Night, and it was an exciting and memorable event.

We have a vast array of pictorial memories of The Artizan’s Ball, thanks to our wonderful photographers, Susie Londoner and Gabriel Gonzales. Thank you so much for preserving our special night through your wonderful photography! Take a peek at our simply smashing evening here!

The evening focused on the talents of our Santa Barbara Artizan’s community. We invited several of our most prestigious “plein-air” artists to paint and create during the evening while our supporters viewed the artists in action. There was no live auction, but we did have a silent auction of many international and local Artizan’s works as well as table-top trees and wreaths for those who wanted to take holiday greenery home with them. For those of you who were serious art collectors and travelers, you had the opportunity to bid on international vacations, fine works of art and, as always, special surprises. Please refer to the link below to preview the art that was available to bid upon. Susan D. LeVine offered to create a wonderful portrait of your home or your most loved pet if you were the lucky bid winner in our silent auction. Please click here to learn more about her terrific and tremendous talent. All of the artwork, trees and wreaths were designed, decorated, and donated by local Artizans, businesses, and friends of Sarah House.

The evening’s events also included entertainment by the national champion San Marcos Madrigals, The Cats’n’Dogs Dance Band, with Hugo Napier on Sax, Orlando Napier on key board, and “the Living Muses”. The evening was catered by New West. Our bar this year featured “Warhol-on-the-Rocks” and “Cosmo Van Gogh” which were prepared and served by bartenders from the Wildcat Lounge, along with wines donated from some of our outstanding local wineries like Buttonwood and Alma Rosa. Although dress code was optional, we invited you to join us in costume as your favorite artist or work of art! Susan Pitcher, proprietor of Dressed and Ready, and Roger Durling of Santa Barbara Film Festival chose the most inspired creations of the evening. The winners were David Stringer and Susan D. LeVine!! They went home that evening with fabulous prizes and gift baskets.

See the Art!
